KRASI
KRASI is a conceptual, multi-sensory pop-up event situated among the iconic blue domes of Oia, Santorini. Conceived as an intentional sanctuary, the project bridges the island’s rich Cycladic heritage with a modern, wellness-focused brand identity designed to help visitors disconnect, breathe, and reset during the pandemic in 2019. The experience targets travelers and design-conscious wine lovers by pairing morning meditation with wine-scented incense, specialized wine facials, and tastings set to traditional live Greek music

Research + Concept
I started by immersing myself in Oia, Santorini through research into its history, climate, cultural identity, and contemporary context. This exploration helped uncover the essence of the location—its contrast of tradition and tourism, stillness and movement—which directly shaped the visual language and design direction of the project.
I developed the concept by applying the 5 W’s framework—who, what, when, where, and why—to ground the idea in clear context, define the core problem, and ensure the direction was both user-focused and intentional.
History
The first human presence on the island goes back to the Neolithic period and there have been traces of an ancient Minoan colony. In 1500 BC, the island was a victim of an enormous volcanic eruption which resulted in its present half-moon shape. The tourist developments started booming during the 1970's.
Climate
During the summer, the island is moist and warm with cool evenings. It can sometimes become hot and dry because rain is scarce. Strong winds are frequent and the weather remains warm during the months of September and October.
During the winter, the weather is much milder compared to most of Greece. The winter can get very humid because of the rain and snow is extremely rare.
Culture
Santorini's primary industry is tourism, particularly during the summer months.
Santorini sustains a wine industry based on the indigenous Assyrtiko grape variety. It is the island's pride.
Santorini's cuisine relies on migratory fowl, fishing, animal breeding, and local produce such as tomatoes and capers. Traditional dishes are passed down from generation to generation. Some famous dishes are yogurt, saganaki, and fava.
Greece is a secular state, but is heavily influenced by the Greek Orthodox Church.
Architecture
Oia architecture includes Neoclassical mansions, small churches, narrow cobbled paths, colorful houses, and the famous blue domes.
Current Events
Santorini did not have a single diagnosis of the virus since lockdown. The island is now open to tourists who are vaccinated or have a negative PCR test.
Many events on the island include music, art exhibitions, and fireworks.

Logo + Visual Style
The logo draws inspiration from the iconic blue domes of Oia, Santorini, using layered forms to reflect the island’s cascading architecture and rich architectural diversity.
The color palette draws from Santorini’s landscape and culture: blue references the island’s iconic domes, yellow symbolizes local pride and Assyrtiko wine, and pink is inspired by the vibrant fuchsia flowers native to the island. Together, these cool-toned colors create a calm and inviting atmosphere.
The photography style is clean and minimal, creating a calm and meditative atmosphere. Imagery centers on Oia’s iconic blue domes, while supporting elements such as meditation and wine help reinforce the event’s theme and visual narrative.

Zine
A zine was a way to showcase Santorini's renowned wine culture, combining editorial storytelling, photography, and typography to highlight the island's most celebrated wines. Alongside the wines themselves, the publication explores Santorini's iconic architecture, whitewashed homes, and blue-domed churches, illustrating how the island's landscape, culture, and design heritage contribute to its unique identity.
